Unvented Cylinder Installation Costs

Unvented Cylinder installation coasts can vary between £550 and over £2000. Here are the some of the factors that drive prices up and drive prices down.

Do you already have an unvented hot water cylinder?

If you do, depending on what brand and type you replace it with, you may well be on the lower end of the scale. The cheapest direct replacement for a 120 litre direct unvented cylinder will be around £550

The Water Mains

If you do not have an unvented cylinder already but are considering installing an unvented hot water cylinder, you will most likley need to upgrade the size of the cold water main, from the incoming stop tap to the unvented hot water cylinder. Water pressure, water flow rates and dynamic pressure test will need to be assessed first. The costs will be higher due to this.

The Discharge Pipe

When you have an unvented cylinder you will need a discharge pipe installing. Depending on where you want your unvented cylinder and how long the route is from the unvented cylinder to outside will increase the installation cost.

Are you re-locating the location of your cylinder?

If so, there is more work involved and obviously costs will increase also.

Ideal Location for your Unvented Cylinder

If you have an internal garage and your stop cock is in the garage too, this can sometimes be the chepaest place to position your new unvented cylinder. Upgrading the size of the water main will be easy as will routing the discharge (a type of safety overflow) pipe.
